Featured images are images deemed worthy of accolade by TPTB (the powers that be). Images can be nominated for a feature by contacting a gallery administrator. Featured images gain additional exposure by being included in our RSS feed and weekly member reports.

Each image that is submitted to the Fotografindo gallery can be promoted by members of the community. Promotions are tabulated for each image and are applied as a rating. Images with high ratings have an increased likelyhood of being displayed in Fotografindo's Community Favorites. This is our way of allowing the community to administer content which deserves higher visibility within the gallery.

Image promotion is a completely subjective process, one that is based on individual judgement. In any case, please keep in mind a few helpuful tips when making your final decision:
1. Does the image stimulate or confront you? Does it do anything for you?
2. Is the image novel? Does it make you curious or grab your attention?
3. Does the image invoke a personal response?
4. Do you find the image thought provoking?
5. What are the overall qualities like? Composition, focus, color, tones, etc.Back to top

To promote a gallery image first make sure you are logged in. On the home page of each image (fullview page) you'll find a voting control to the left of the image title, below the image. Click the up arrow to promote the image. To undo the promotion click the up arrow again. You may only promote once per image.

Basic accounts are for evaluating Fotografindo. Basic accounts have an image quota that limits the number of images you can upload to Fotografindo. Basic accounts have a limit on how many images can be uploaded each day which is reset at midnight, UTC time.

Senior Members are selected by the Fotografindo Staff after thoroughly reviewing suggestions made by members of the Fotografindo community. Senior Members are recognized for their contributions to the community which include promoting community spirit, providing help and assistance to others, having a positive influence on their peers, sharing resources, and providing constructive criticism to help others improve. Members can also receive this honor through their artistic endeavors and for being recognized as a community leader.

Fotografindo Groups provide a place for members of Fotografindo who share a common interest in a particular area of photography. Each group is run by a team of moderators who manage the group's gallery as well as feature images of high calibre. Each group has a dedicated forum where members can discuss techniques, exchange information, and share ideas.

Joining a group is easy. First navigate to the group you wish to join. Available groups can be found on the groups page. Click the Join this Group link, then select the Join Group button at the bottom of the page. You can also edit your group membership at anytime. Just navigate to the group membership page, then click the Leave Group button to remove yourself and all your images from the group.

First make sure you are a member of the group you wish to submit your image. To submit a new image to a group, upload your image as normal, then before saving toggle the group(s) you wish to include in the Submit To Groups section of the form. Click the save button when complete.

To submit an image which already exists in your gallery navigate to its image page then select the Edit Gallery Image link which will transfer you to the Edit Gallery Image page. Find the section labeled Submit To Groups then toggle each group you wish to add your image to (multiple groups are allowed). Make sure to click the save button to complete the changes. Your image will now be submitted to each group as a new submission.

As much as we regret your wanting to leave our community we do understand the need to provide you a way to remove your data from our system.

Like other web-based communities, members leave comments in many areas of our site. These communications are the history and current state of the Fotografindo community. Deleting member accounts entirely radically changes this state and disrupts the continuity of the community. For this reason, we do not delete accounts completely. What we will do is set your account to inactive. This will remove all your images from our gallery, posts you've made in the forum, groups memberships, and network connections you've made. What will remain after account inactivation is any comments you've left on other member's images, profile pages, and forum posts. Promotions you've awarded images in both the main gallery and for Fotografindo Magazine will remain.

You can start the process of account inactivation by first signing in to your account then navigationg to Home > Edit Account Settings > Inactive account.
